Celebrating ours school’s birthday (FEPS)

In order to celebrate this great achievement, there were no classes during an entire week and all teachers and students proposed and participated in a great variety of activities. Important people were invited to lecture us on so many issues: we had the Mayor talking about the importance of being a good citizen; a doctor advising on the dangers of drug consumption; technicians from the Portuguese Youth Institute (Instituto Português da Juventude) trying to motivate us to join voluntary organisations that help the most needed; engineers speaking about the situation of metalomechanical companies; teachers talking about their thesis; and so on. Besides all these lectures, there were many activities proposed and made by the students for the students. For example, expositions about electronics, chemistry, photography, our school, and the region of Setúbal; Magic, football, paintball, bingo and scrabble contests; theatre; workshops on make-up, computers, chemistry, regional gastronomy, advertising, and how to recycle paper; students’ testimonies (my training period; what’s like to be abroad); and concerts. The list is so big I would have to stay here all day but my English class is finishing and I have to deliver my article. I’ll just say it all ended in a nice dinner, on Friday night.
