Makes you long for Xmas.
Makes you long for Xmas.

At Christmas we don’t lay the table as usual. Instead, we fill a second table with a scary amount of small courses. Then everybody pick what they want and eat all too much.

The most common of these courses are: ham, meatballs, and small sausages.
Other common courses are: herring, (in all imaginable forms except fried) roast beef, beetroot salad, potato salad, salmon and rice pudding.
More rare features includes such courses as eel, elk meat, some strange mix called Jansons frestelse, eggs, Dopp i grytan, brawn and lye soaked stockfish.

A lot of candy, toffee, strange kind of chocolate called (is choklad), fudge, more chocolate “se the underline for herring”, all kinds of cookies and all kinds of nuts except…

At Christmas we drink: Julmust, mulled wine and alcohol (officially only the adults drink the last)
