Madredeus

Pedro, Gabriel, Rodrigo e Francisco, now need a singer. One day Rodrigo listened to a 18 year old girl singing with the band of a friend, but for many reasons he didn't have the courage to ask her to join his band.
She often goes with her friends to the Gingao, a bar in Lisbon.
Also the girl would like to sing with them... ...one day she sees them coming in the bar, she begins to sing a Fado with one of her friends.
Finally, Gabriel asks her if she wants to be their singer and when Pedro returns from Brasil they meet in his house in Avenida de Berna to play for the first time together.
It's December 1986… Madredeus are born!
Actually the name has been chosen by some friends who used to visit the band while they were playing near a church in Lisbon called "Madre de Deus".
