Personally, I think it has been a wonderful experience that has allowed me to meet people who are now very special to me.

The Project “From National Wealth to World Heritage” is formed by teachers and students from Spain, Turkey and Sweden. At first, the purpose of the project was only to study world heritage sites in the three countries and we started to work and find information about Segovia and Toledo.

Later we were offered the possibility to speak via Messenger with boys and girls of our age in Sweden and Turkey and we became friends. What nobody expected was that there would be a student exchange and that it would take place this year in March, so soon.

The Turkish group arrived on the 28th of March and we were all very excited and nervous; we were also concerned about not being able to communicate with them. On the 30th, the Swedish group arrived and that afternoon there was a welcome party at our school and we met all members of the project.

On Monday we visited Segovia, on Tuesday Toledo. The last day we were all together was on Wednesday morning and we went to Prado Museum, Queen Sofía Museum, Retiro Park and other places. In the afternoon the Swedish group left. That same day, at night, we gave the Turkish group a surprise farewell party because they were going to leave the following morning.

The moment of farewell was really sad for everyone because by that time we had become true friends; we were almost like a family. Personally, I think it has been a wonderful experience that has allowed me to meet people who are now very special to me and I am really looking forward to the moment of being able to see my friends in Turkey next year.
