Nathan

A gentle breeze sweeps by and the small waves from the ocean is carefully crashing with the cliffs. The sun is at it's highest point and the seagulls are screaming as they always have, and always will. Suddenly the cooling breeze stops and the water becomes so calm that you even can see the kelp and seaweed swaying with the small motions of the water. He knows he can't hide the story of his dad to his son anymore, he knows it's time to tell him why he haven't been told about his grandfather.

- Hey Will?, Nathan stumbles. - Yes dad?, Wills questioning eyes meets with his dads. - You know we don't talk about your grandfather?, Nathan looks down to find something to focus on, the only thing he sees growing on the rough surface of the cliff they are sitting on is a delicate yellow flower. - Yeah I know, Will slowly starts to realize what's about to happen. - Well, I think it's time you get to know who he was, Nathan pinches the thin stem of the flower with his nails and hands it over to Will. Will takes the flower and nods slightly.

- Well, Nathan starts, - His name was Gaz and he wasn't like other fathers, I loved him and wanted the best for him but as I said, he was not like other fathers. Nathan pauses and looks over to Will, there he sits on the cliff with the sun shining on his strawberry blonde hair. Nathan starts again, - And I know he wanted the best for me but he had some struggles. - He had a hard time staying away from alcohol and stealing small things from shops and his actions wasn't always so bright, This time when he looks over, Will has an uneasy look on his face. Nathan keeps going, - He didn’t have much money either, so to solve his problems he usually got some crazy ideas, Nathan stops and a memory comes flashing by. When he was about the same age as Will and Gaz got the brilliant idea to become a stripper with his newly found friends. Nathans stern face suddenly gets looser and a smile wants to take form. - And then? Will asks with a slight expression of excitement. - He got an idea to earn money so he could keep seeing me, the only problem was that the idea wasn’t the best of ideas. He wanted to gather some people and start a show where they stripped, Nathan says, with his sight focused on the calm water. - Oh, Will chuckles, - Did they succeed?, Will looks over to his father. -You know what the funny thing is?, Nathan asks. - No?, Will replies. - That they actually did, Nathan looks over to his smiling son, now also smiling.
