I am going to write about the weather at Christmas in the Canary Islands and why it is so different to other countries. The weather is hot, it never snows during the year, only in winter in El Teide, Tenerife. The people usually go to Las Canteras Beach and they take a bath, some people don't wear sweater or overcoats in winter here because the weather is warm. The average temperature is 23 degrees or more in the Canary Islands. When it is Christmas in Gran Canaria, it is a tradition that a sand nativity scene is built on Las Canteras beach. This nativity scene is made of water and sand and has been made since 2006. Eight international sculptors have participated this year.
