So how do we celebrate Christmas in Sweden?
In Sweden Christmas is a very important holiday. Swedes usually go to christmas markets and buy decorations and find christmas presents. Here we start with decorations early and some people in Sweden even put up their christmas tree already in November.

In some countries they celebrate Christmas on the 25:th of December. Here in Sweden we celebrate Christmas on the 24:th of Decmeber.

On the 24:th family’s gathers and celebrates christmas. The food is very delicious and is often served on christmas. The food served is usually meatballs, christmas ham, prinskorvar(princesausages), egg halves, herring and grilled salmon. In the morning when everyone is awake there’s usually stockings swedes put up earlier in december, and in those stockings there’s usually a present for them to open directly. And of course there are lots of gifts and presents under the christmas tree.

At 3PM (15:00) we Swedes watch Kalle Anka (Donald Duck) on tv. Every year at the same time we watch Donald Duck on tv. But when the evening comes is the children’s favorite time of the day. To be more specific Santa Claus comes. In Sweden we call Santa “Tomten ''. Santa gives out presents to the kids and even to the adults. Santa sits there for a while and when the time has come Santa needs to leave. Apperantly to '' go to others houses and give them presents to ” when santa has left we open the presents. After that we enjoy the rest of the evening with our families. Watching movies and come together. Playing games.
